Tightening ties of friendship, IKALUM FT UMJ Holds a Grand Reunion
The Alumni Association (IKALUM) of the Faculty of Engineering, Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta (FT UMJ) strengthened ties of friendship, through the Grand Reunion, with the theme Greeting One Soul, Strengthening the Islamic Brotherhood, at the Ir Djoeanda Auditorium, Faculty of Engineering UMJ, Cempaka Putih, Saturday (28/10/ 2023).
Dean of FT Ir. Irfan Purnawan, ST, M.Chem Eng , accompanied by Deputy Dean III Ir. Harwidyo Eko Prasetyo, ST, MT and the Heads of Study Programs welcomed the grand reunion event which was attended by approximately 100 FT alumni. This event aims to strengthen ties and meet each other between alumni from various classes.
In his speech Ir. Irfan Purnawan, ST, M.Chem Eng, explained that there would be the opening of a new professional program, an educational funding assistance program and the availability of an alumni room "There are alumni from 9 study programs present here, in the future the UMJ Faculty of Engineering will launch a new professional program, namely the Professional Engineer and study program Masters in Civil Engineering and the availability of IKALUM secretariat space. "Currently FT also has a Waqf Funding For Student Financing (WF4SF) program, which is an education assistance loan program for students and 71 students have taken advantage of it," said Irfan.
Dr. Hanief Arief, ST, MAP as Head of the Silaturahim Division of the Public Relations Network and Information Data Division, said that alumni can provide development support to faculties and build professional activities so that they can take part according to their competencies when they graduate.
"The alumni are trying to open cooperation with the Indonesian Engineers Association and BRIN for future alumni to increase their capacity and quality," said Hanief.
Marwan, one of the IIKALUM representatives, said that graduates must be supported. Currently Civil Engineering alumni are creating a scholarship program for Civil Engineering students with the highest GPA of 1, 2 and 3 for Civil Engineering study program students.
Siti Nur Ayani, a Civil Engineering alumnus, also added that it is hoped that prospective graduates will be able to build more connections with alumni so that in the future students will have good relationships in the world of work after graduating.
Desta Erlando Tikwalau, ST as the chief organizer of the event also said that there were plans for further activities that would be made by IIKALUM FT-UMJ related to improving skills so that alumni connections could be established, namely by holding Olympics in their respective study programs.
In carrying out this event, a POKJA (Working Group) has been formulated consisting of representatives of UMJ Faculty of Engineering alumni from each department with the aim of providing support for the faculty's needs in the form of activities and funds so that activities at FT UMJ are more enthusiastic and obtain superior accreditation in each study program.
